Chamber Music International Festival.
The “International Festival of Chamber Music”, created in 1999, and directed by Maestro Fabio Furia ever since, is today one of the most well-established and most popular events in the Sulcis Iglesiente area. It has an articulated and varied programme, which reserves show time to different music genres and to the most diverse types of shows. Not only classical and chamber repertoires, then, but also jazz, tango, and world music; not only concerts, but also music-theatre, film events, dance, and music training seminars and workshops. Throughout the years, great music has been the sole protagonist, thanks to the participation of prestigious performers of the international concert scenario such as, just to mention a few: Jean Ferradis, Alla Scala Soloists, Anna Tifu, Mauro Palmas, Franco Maggio Ormezzowsky, the Strasbourg Soloists, the Hyperion Ensemble, Pierre Hommage, etc.
ARTango &Jazz Festival.
Music encompasses art in its most multiple and varied forms – from dance to cuisine, from cinema to poetry – with tango as the central idea, from traditional tango to its most recent evolutions with jazzy and ethnic influences.
One of the summer festivals with the highest turnout in Sulcis Iglesiente, thanks to its innovative and prominent, in terms of attendance, artistic programme, it increasingly attracted more and more attention from the regional press and tvs, ever since its first edition (2010).
Vinum in Musica & Carignano Music Experience.
Tastes and notes of the Sulcis wine cellars.
It was Fabio Furia’s idea, and he is in charge of its art direction ever since its first edition in 2008. Today it is one of the most prominent cultural festivals in Sardinia. Its main goal is to combine the value of artistic music and the prestige of quality wine products, by offering a very high up programme of concerts with the picturesque wine cellars listed in the Road of Carignano del Sulcis as a background, which is to say: ancient villages, mining areas and renowned squares. Throughout the years, the event hosted big celebrities of the International artistic scene, such as Louis Bacalov, Massimo Mercelli, Massimo Lopez, Anna Tifu, Fabio Furia, Romeo Scaccia, Antonella Ruggiero, Gavino Murgia, Franca Masu, Duo+2 Quartet con Natalia Titova e Samuel Péron, Elena Ledda, Mauro Palmas, Giuseppe Nova & Rino Vernizzi Jazz Quintet, Alessandro Haber e Quintetto Meridies, Rosalia De Souza & Maurizio Di Fulvio Trio, Gabriele Mirabassi, ContraMilonga Ensemble, etc.
The Festival takes place as an initiative of the Province of Carbonia Iglesias in partnership with the Association “Strada del Vino Carignano” and of the municipalities hosting the events.
“Colori e Note” Festival.
Since 2011, Fabio Furia is also art director of the “Colori e note” Festival, an initiative sponsored by the Calasetta municipality at the Museum of Contemporary Art. A varied programme of classical, chamber, jazz, tango and klezmer music concerts, set against the picturesque art exhibition of the museum.
“Liberevento” is a literature and music festival, which has been happening in Calasetta since 2012. Readings, meetings with authors, book exhibitions, teaching and educational activities are organised alongside music shows of very high artistic value. Fabio Furia is in charge of the art direction of musical events.
